My new wife has just told me that she wants a big chest and neck tattoo for her birthday. Look , I don't mind a few tats (she has a few big ones that are non visible when clothed), but to me, a neck tat is getto as fuck and says " I'm bitch who can't do anything but be a crack whore". I make a good living in a very professional environment, where I am the boss. There is no fucking way I am taking a neck and chest tatted woman to a company function where a deep into the 6 figure salary based upon perception is on the line. Advice?

Suck it up, no one thinks neck tattos are ugly but you
Deal with it, even if it means you won't be having sex becuase you aren't turned on anymore
Divorce her now
Hire a spouse for company functions.

Can't believe all these people with stupid advice that nothing can be done.

Tell her nicely that you don't like the idea, even if you agreed previously, tell her you've been thinking about it and now when you visualize it your mind has changed. Tell her she looks good and you think it will ruin her image.

If she still decides that your opinion doesn't matter and she will go and get it. Forbid her from getting it, plain and simple. Don't threaten her, no "if you get it I will leave or I will that", it's weak. "You won't be getting that tattoo", "because I said so and you will listen to what I say because you are my woman" - no "if you want to be my woman", no threats, no ultimatums. You are telling her how things are going to be, end of story, 2 minute discussion and it's over.

It's not easy, I know especially if you love her. You want to let her do all the stupid little things that fall on her mind because they make her happy.

"Who are you to think you can order me what to do? I will leave you (wah, wah, cry, cry)."

"Ok, sweety, just let me know when you head out so I can lock the door after you."

If she leaves, you dodged a bullet, but will in the end feel better for dealing with the situation like a man.

If she throws tantrums and cries and still stays, things will be sour for a while, keep cold and don't try to apologize or do anything to fix the situation. You willl see how quickly she will start acting nice just to get on your good side.

If she ignores you and gets the tattoo anyway, kick her out and forget about her.
