I'm trying to appreciate the richness of White culture. I would like a recommendation of Luciano Pavoratti's work. I think it's a long shot , but someone may be able to recommend something that really showcases his talent. Thanks faggots

I thought this was about web browsers. But yeah, got to take my dad to Die Tote Stadt before he died, so my mother would get to dress up and go to an opera. It was hilarious to be in the first intermission with my truck driver father, with a CEO looking guy and his wife behind him, while my dad just says, "so if I'm following this, he's batshit crazy and she's a gold digger." The wife was appalled, the guy just nodded sagely. The DSO is doing the entire Ring Cycle this fall -- not the full opera, but the symphonic version (don't remember the term) with all the parts on stage, just not in costume and acting.

Check out the last scene of Mozart's Don Giovanni. My fave of all time. Pure drunk-at-the-opera-on-Saturday-night stuff. Opera was and is for everyone. Working people would go to the opera in Mozart's time, same as the aristos. Very boisterous.

In the last scene, the statue of a guy that Don Giovanni has killed comes to life and invites him to supper--in Hell. Super basso profundo singing, snazzy costumes, smoke, fire, the works. Finally, a bunch of demons come up from Hell and drag Don Gionvanni away. Talk about entertainment.

The Three Tenors, Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo and José Carreras, belted out some phenomenal cross genre tunes back in the 90s. Masters of the male voice.

As a tenor, he is featured in quite a bit - La bohème was one I have heard him in, la triviata is another. I think he was featured in Rigoletto - ive only seen this work live and hes been long dead. Worth a search specifically for his aria's and go from there to see the work in its entirety.

Edit: also did Turandot..

Any interests in [female] soprano's?

Thanks , I'll search for those performances this weekend. Never really heard female Opera singers . Just a few of the well known male tenors. Id love suggestions for female singers.

For one of the greatest, IMO is Maria Callas. Second is Anna Netrebko.

I haven't had the pleasure to see Anna live. I cannot recall the last show we went to that she is well known for.. I'll edit once I get home

Thanks, I'll check these singers out too

The one with the sad clown. Nessun dorma is a good song Pavarotti did, but I prefer Mario lanza version
