It's on my right pinky and it's a little oversized. I used to use cloth tape on it but that just felt ridiculous. Is there some sort of non-toxic resin that I could add to the finger side of the ring that could keep it in place without giving me hand cancer in 20 years?

I dont really know, but I would assume they can just compress it for smaller or stretch it for bigger. Within reason of course.

I wonder what happens to the little amount of gold that they removed? I'm sure it's not significant but still.

You can stretch a few sizes up, you cut and resolder to go down or add to go up more than a few sizes
