Jewelry is almost always welcome, and it doesn’t have to be expensive. Something shiny and pretty in Sterling silver can be very affordable. A bouquet of flowers from a local florist is always a good idea, and maybe dinner at a decent restaurant. If she has a specific interest, say she loves street cats from the shelter, go to Etsy and buy her a cat sculpture made from spare metal pieces. Etsy is great for niche gifts, and you can find nice jewelry there also. Birthstone for Feb is a diamond, so buy her some boho earrings made from herkimer diamond (really quartz, but very interesting crystal structures). Or some handmade copper jewelry made by a local craftsman. Do not go to Jared or a “jewelry store”. Prices are way marked up. Go to a local shop that carries items made from local artisans. You get much more bang for your buck.
She doesn't like gemstones because of the shit that goes with them. I got lab made diamonds before which are a whole lot cheaper. Etsy is definitely a good call. Used it once to buy a watch. Some good things there. Thanks for the suggestions
Gold. You used to give your wife gifts of gold so that if you passed away she would have a means to support herself and family. It’s really cool to pass down gold to your children. Start a family tradition.

My wife recently expressed interest in a necklace that is just a small pure gold bar on a chain. I'm looking into having it done with an engraving on the back. Otherwise, before the shutdowns, we would pick a city within 2 hours driving, get a fancy hotel room on a Sat. night, and explore what the city had.... fancy dinner, window shopping, historic home tours, etc... you get the idea.. When all was said and done, we had a great weekend for about $500.
Yeah, couple of nights in a different city is a great idea
