Yes, the John Deere who makes the tractors. Not sure I actually know anything about him or his legacy or his rise to power in the farming industry. I was wondering if theres a John Deere rabbit hole I can sip my coffee to this morning.

I mean there is the whole right to repair controversy, but I'm not sure I would define that as a rabbit hole. Shit company, tho

Solid opinion. I'll have to look up "right to repair", sounds like a bill being passed

Louis Rossmann (https://www.youtube.com/@rossmanngroup/videos) has a lot of videos on Right to Repair and several specifically about John Deere and their anti-repair practices.

Here's a recent one from him on John Deere https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyboI5D_GhA

It's actually being resisted by corporations like Deere, Google, Apple etc.

Have you ever operated a John Deere other than a lawn mower?

No, have you?

Own an operate a mini ex and a small tractor. I've got a few thousand hours on each. I've had family work in corporate as well. I've operated pretty much every brand excavator too. I fucking hate Takeuchi's and refuse to respect a company that uses them.

Why is JD a shit company? I didn't take you as a farming earthmoving type...

I remember watching machines that built America. All I remember is that cat invented the track machine cause when they were steam powered then tires just sunk in the field.
