If you do go make sure you have solid, long term employment set up before hand. It can be hard to get jobs there and they go to locals and natives first, period.
Had a buddy who after the service went to make a life up there. He had to quit and come back mainland after a year and half because he just couldn't get work. He had lived there for almost a decade as a kid, so he wasn't totally new. If he didn't have friends he already knew there which had to lean on, he wouldn't even have made it 6 months.
