I was thinking about upgrading my phone because its crappy and old and blah blah. But a lot of the newer phones don't have storage on board. My thought would be to buy a USB-c external microSD card and reader for a new phone. Yay or nay on this being a good idea. I'm not always around fast enough data to upload to the cloud efficiently.

USBC to NVME M.2 adapters compatible with mobile phones are cheap af.

You can also use a battery powered pocket/portable SSD NAS to store your files, videos, images...

I'll look into that thank you. I'm looking at a Google pixel 6 pro. Refurbished on Amazon for just under 300 bucks. They don't have any SD ports on the 'flagship' ones.
