I was thinking about upgrading my phone because its crappy and old and blah blah. But a lot of the newer phones don't have storage on board. My thought would be to buy a USB-c external microSD card and reader for a new phone. Yay or nay on this being a good idea. I'm not always around fast enough data to upload to the cloud efficiently.

I know I saw a couple like that. But the thing is is I get nervous about those all in one things cuz they always break. Especially the mobile ones. I do have a laptop but the only extra memory it has is really an SD card that's inserted in the side. I was thinking about one of those small SSD drives with an external slip in USBC holder. Aou told me about the holder.

Yeah, phones pretty much can use any USB peripheral. If the power draw is too much you can just hook up a powered USB hub to the phone.

Good to know. More importantly I'm trying to figure out what phone to go with. Pixel 6 pro looks like it's affordable at this point. I would like to find it in 256. And if that's no good I might just bow down and get the latest version of the g power I don't know I used to have a Samsung years ago but those things I kind of clunky shit although they take fantastic pictures.

If I were getting a new phone and spending a fair bit, I'd be sure it had an unlocked bootloader and some good custom ROMs out there. Pixel 6 pro seems to from some quick searches. I was looking at the PIxel phones due to Google's GCam and the custom DSP they have (I've used hacked GCam ports to the LG V20 and Moto G Power 2020 and they make a noticeable improvement in picture quality over stock camera app, so I assume they look great on the PIxel phones).
