I was thinking about upgrading my phone because its crappy and old and blah blah. But a lot of the newer phones don't have storage on board. My thought would be to buy a USB-c external microSD card and reader for a new phone. Yay or nay on this being a good idea. I'm not always around fast enough data to upload to the cloud efficiently.

I won't own a phone that doesn't have SD card compatibility.

The best phone I ever owned was a rooted Note 4. It had more capabilities then brand new phones have today. The only reason I'm not still using it is because (((they))) made old phones incompatible with the new networks.

Yup. They're zapping all the old stuff. Funny how cheer for electric cars and cry over climate change. But at the same time they let companies brick phones so you have to buy a new one causing all that extra waste.
