I am not without sin. Some days I spread the light and rejoice in what the Lord had created. But some days I deny the Lord's gifts in such an atrocious manner that I wonder if the offense is too great. I'm being a little dramatic, but I saved it for after Christmas lol

That legitimately made me smile and chuckle. Thanks for that!

Moping around, are we?

I could say that I had a shitty holiday, but I really have so much to be grateful for.

It is true. No one deserves the Lords forgiveness. For Romans 3:23 24

But John 3:16.

Looking around the world we live in, maybe God should be asking for our forgiveness. (Sarcastic btw)

For if we confess our sin to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. I John 1:9

The non-meritorious act of acknowledging our sin, pleading guilty and accepting the truth that Christ died to pay the debt for all our sin and rose again to give us eternal life grants us clemency and a permanent status as sons.

Subsequent to salvation, we are eternally sons, but regular confession of sin through private prayer allows us to be cleansed temporarily so that we can be filled with His Spirit until we sin again.

It’s similar to the difference between an inheritance (eternal life) and a daily allowance (filling of the Spirit). We will one day receive the full portion of complete and permanent union with His Spirit, but for now, we must abide by His expectations to receive our day to day blessings.

That's for sharing. I've admittedly been away from the good book for a long time now, and even beforehand my relationship with scripture was superficial at best.

I've just finished writing out Psalm 22, and I rather enjoyed the experience. I feel like I was able to reflect on each passage in a more substantial way.

Are you talking to the right God?

[–] 1 pt

I think the answer to your question is yes, but can you elaborate?

What does the God you are talking to want from you?

[–] 1 pt

That's a really good question, and I'm not honestly sure that I know the answer yet, or that I'd be able to articulate the point if I did know. If I had to take a stab at an answer now, I might say that he wants me to rejoice and be true. Perhaps he wants me to truly surrender to his love. Any answer feels ignorant but I tried.

No. I'm not a jew.

If I were, I'd know, my entire bloodline is damned to hell, past, present, and future.
