Go to web.archive.org, you'll end up at a HTTP:// site. No "S"

I see that now. I wonder why it didn't copy the "https://" part when I copied the url? Who knows. Thanks for pointing it out. The more you know...

I'd say they don't have their redirect set up properly in .htaccess or whatever they're using.

My browser is redirecting http to https if possible. Now I see why I get the https page if I type the url without https in the address bar. And now your comment about them having an error in their redirect makes more sense.

Thanks stupidbird. You're a genius...

Weird because you can type "web.archive.org" into the address bar without the https and it still redirects to the https page just fine.

web.archive.org/web/20231216120521/https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12870043/Florida-man-Joseph-Giampa-death-penalty-law-DeSantis-sex-crime-child.html

If you copy/paste the url without the https it still redirects fine. Why was there a problem when clicking the link from poal?

If you’re using the archive sites for anything they force users to use insecure dns methods. Even if you’re using https, it’s not confidential. They will legit give you an incorrect ip if your dns server refuses to leak extended dns details about you.
