The challenge of getting started on a homestead sounds like a hell of a lot of fun if done right and efficiently. Some of the biggest problems I see with starting a homestead is water, electricity and building materials.

It’s true, and it’s getting worse. Many places have laws against off grid, must be connected. Solar must be connected to central grid control in the future. Well permits. Any places are getting harder to get. A d we encountered one place (almost bought there )where they suddenly clawed back 10 year old well permits that people were using and forced them to dismantle the well . Left them all fucked, because fish and a court decision on natives water rights.

We wanted to buy land and live in our rv for a time to build a farm, nope, not a single place in the country can that be a primary dwelling. You can get away with it, until you can’t… then fucked.

Another place had a nonexistent animal thing that was sort of endangered, didn’t actually exist, but the old boys who ran the town council used to to approve or deny whoever they saw fit. Almost got stuck like others had where you buy a prop, can’t build anything, end up taking a huge loss and sell it.

We live pretty well. Use all the water we want, have solar and it powers our entire existence. We run lots of energy hungry things too, and large power tools?

The price tag and hassle in the us was way beyond us, also, the government is out of control and no way I’m going to be subject to that crazy bitch if they go al WEF or forced vacc shit.

There’s the catch. Interesting though, opposed to the us now, they hold white people in high regard. Good family culture, no crime outside th big cities. Meh, I had to learn another language. I muddle my way through.
