Lapsed LCMS which is really the only denomination to go with. Worst part is parsing the Bible which I find hard to believe is complete and accurate over all these millenia.
I also have scratched the surface of but not dived into northern Germanic / Nordic ways which I'm also descended from.
My take-away from religious texts is that they're riddled with metaphors and riddles to hide the exact truth. The Bible, the most important of the lot, requires a person to look for God within themselves and their actions, whereas much of the suggestions of modern day Christians and religious leaders is that a higher power, or a third party, is coming to save them. I do not believe this to be the case, and that the truth is inward, not outward.
This brings to mind the idea/claims that praying will solve everything because that's what David did when fighting Goliath and other stories...completely missing that David did something after praying.
Your use of "dived" is very curious. Are you British or something? It isn't incorrect, but definitely not something many American's would use. It stands out for sure.
