No, has (other than occasional comments in passing) absolutely nothing to do with the Russian Revolution. Shouldn't that be obvious? Russian Revolution(s) 1917; Solzhenitsyn sent to the camps in 1945. It's like someone asking "What caused the car crash? Did that other car hit you?" and as and answer you point to your injury.

However, he, Solzhenitsyn, did write a multi-volume history of the Russian Revolution, "The Red Wheel"

Also, it is so vast that you will never read it, Gulag Archipelago that is.
