The few volunteer works I've done where random opportunities that came up. Like spending a single day with elementary kids as several soldiers in uniform. Being DD for events with a lot alcohol. Picking up highway trash for a club.
Reflecting on it, I really need to do more then what I have done.
I used to go down to the local bike trail with trash bags and clean up on my days off. Currently make and donate baby blankets to pregnant women that I learn about in my area.
I wouldn't mind doing some volunteer work at a ranch or a self-sufficient community.
I have been volunteering for the fire service for about 15 years now. I am an EMT and Fire Officer 2. I have countless hours invested in it.
