I find it hard to believe that notabug is world ranked 40,000 and saddit is 82,000, while poal.co world ranking shows up at 302,000. The activity on poal seems to be much greater than the other two sites. For reference, reddit's world ranking is 17.

Possibly. The other sites have fewer votes for posts. So, lurkers are a possible reason. Or. there is some optimization they're using. Who really knows?
