Why do you live in a low class apartment complex? You are a sum of people you surround yourself with.

I've been working since I was 14. I have zero debt. I'm in my mid 40s and have savings but it's not enough I buy a house outright. I will not go into debt over a house unless I have a partner for it because we will need to be able to help one another. Right now prices are stupid high.

I moved here in 2015 and it was well maintained and the people were middle class. It was bought shortly after I moved and they started offering loans to get trash to move in, they removed the grass and trees, and let people dump trash and scream at one another. I was hoping it would get a bit better but when it didn't I started looking for a new place but then the plandemic hit.

My rent has nearly doubled at this crappy place since I moved here. I do not want to downsize and that is what it would take to move to a nicer place. I cannot afford a house out here and really don't know that I want to deal with the debt of the type I could afford. I wouldn't mind moving states yet again but I'm with a great guy and I know he doesn't want to leave here.

I am not willing to go to an even smaller apartment that will cost me even more.
