I see a lot of very lonely elders living alone in my little community. I'll stop as I ride my bike and talk to them, help bring in their garbage cans, etc. Loneliness is a silent killer.

good on you. you would be suprised what a difference that can make in an older person's life. i always try to conversate with my elders because they are a treasure trove of information. in fact, a 30 minute conversation once saved me money on repairs, because you never know who are talking to or who they used to be.

It's so true. We'll all be elderly someday, some a lot sooner than others. A little kindness goes a long way especially to a senior that lives alone.
