There seem to be something going on with american blacks and big wheels.

Why wheels? Africa never invented them. Is this what you get when you mix black and white DNA? The fascination for wheels? Why big wheels? I don't know, but I couldn't find any anecdotal evidence of a proclivity towards inlines, skateboards and such.

Some examples: "Donk" cars with huge wheels. Not common with white owners. The meme of black people stealing bicycles. Not really a meme. Popular songs like "2pac - picture me rolling" or "Chamillionaire - Ridin'" Whenever I find a clip of a large problematic group on motorcycles with bigger wheels, ie enduro/cross/motards...

What's going on here, explain to me poal.

It's a status symbol. They think it means they are wealthy because they have them. In reality, they are just being tacky.

That would explain expensive big rims on cars but not the general obsession with wheels.

They believe the rims, show wealth. The rims cost 3 or 4k minimum for those stupid things. Then they put it on a car that they have "invested" (read as bondo and nigger fixed) in.

They think it makes them look wealthy...

Or worse, when they have a bit of money, they always go buy a car, and immediately put new wheels on it before they drive it once. Because it shows that "xtra wealth".
