I got to thinking back to high school, when I had 4 good, close friends. After they drifted away, I never made new friends. Sitting alone at night contemplating that is kind of lonely when I realize I'm sitting in the joy that is middle age with no close human contact like I had as a teenager/20s.

So how many friends do y'all have? No acquaintances, or people you hang out with. Real friends.

I have golfing buddies, former work friends but we all get caught up in family and work life. The guys who still hang out with school friends are usually losers who didn't move on and grow up. Once retired you can go back and meet up with the survivors for reminiscing.
