I got to thinking back to high school, when I had 4 good, close friends. After they drifted away, I never made new friends. Sitting alone at night contemplating that is kind of lonely when I realize I'm sitting in the joy that is middle age with no close human contact like I had as a teenager/20s.

So how many friends do y'all have? No acquaintances, or people you hang out with. Real friends.

Definitely two people that might as well be family. Ones dead, the other is in OK. 2 or 3 around hear I'd call gooderns, maybe a slap away from family. Kinda have to survive a serious crisis or two, then get reevaluated first. Not bad after 52 years I'm thinking.
