I got to thinking back to high school, when I had 4 good, close friends. After they drifted away, I never made new friends. Sitting alone at night contemplating that is kind of lonely when I realize I'm sitting in the joy that is middle age with no close human contact like I had as a teenager/20s.

So how many friends do y'all have? No acquaintances, or people you hang out with. Real friends.

One or two. But even people who aren't close friends is OK too. Just go out and socialize. Not everyone has to be a close friend to enjoy them.

I even enjoy some people who I have little in common with.
