Maybe we are splitting hairs. Most of the Old Testament was written by the people known as Israelites, in Hebrew with a smattering of Greek and Aramaic.

But since most often quoted is stuff from Genesis, I'm ok with that for making my point.

I don't consider this splitting hairs at all. In fact it's a very important for modern Christians to understand that the Jews of the old testament are not the same people as the Pharisees and Bolsheviks who parade around with that name now days.

Perhaps more of the misguided morons who call them "God's Chosen People" would realize they are not the same people at all if this distinction was made more clear.
