ban automatics, problem solved
manufacturers are getting away from manuals so they can have the car drive for you.
I can no longer buy a manual version of my car because subaru wants to be "the safest car company" by putting wonky scary nanny features in their cars that like to panic brake when they see a curb on a sharp turn.
I'd like to see manufacturers make sporty, manual, performance cars exclusive to buyers who can pass a rigorous field test. Make it exclusive and everyone will want them as a status symbol, but in this case one that actually means something.
Oh, and your contract states you cannot sell it to anyone not equivalently qualified.
A boutique, merit based system. Clearly racist.
I'd do that because I plan on driving both of these until my brother, who is my mechanic, says "You stupid bird, this thing has holes big enough to drive a bus through in the body, I'm not fixing it anymore."
