From what I've heard, some doctors are starting to refer to it as Type 3 diabetes. Your brain is made of fat cells and fat cells can become insulin resistant over time. If that happens to your brain cells they begin to starve. However, there is something you can do to stop this because your body can also digest ketones. Adopting a full keto diet should stop it dead in its tracks. It couldn't hurt to at least try it. Worst case scenario, you'll be thinner.
BTW, living in a state of ketosis is not sustainable long term. Fat cells become insulin resistant because usually there's too much fat and the insulin can't penetrate. Pancreas gets exhausted trying to make insulin.

How do the Eskimo's and extreme northern european/Russians do it for so long?
Eskimos survive on seal , fish, and whale . Not a lot of carbs growing on the tundra .
Hah, you got me. I suppose if you consider the elements (wind, snow ice etc.) the limited food sources (fat protein) and the absolute gargantuan efforts required to survive in that kind of world, then a fat and protein diet is probably the only diet that could sustain a human. Back in the '20's they did a quasi-documentary called "Nanook of the North".
Yes, great info and comment. So hard to do.
