We human kids were totally blindsided. Been well over 40 years and it still pisses me off royally. Really caused a rift with my parents and myself. I have tried to be forgiving and understand they were doing the best they knew how, but still feel betrayed and let down tbh
I know, still bugged about it. Your parents probably didn't know better and didn't have much of a choice likely.
I get it. I know how hard it is just to keep a roof over your head and your kids fed and clothed , I've forgiven them but it was fucked up
Oh I'm sure you did forgive them, sounds like you're that kind of person.
But yeah, it was incredibly demoralizing and anything else you could think of.
They used to steal us blind. Emotionally scarring, really was. You carry it around with you forever.
