Lol, look’d up Piston Alley, it do look fun! Man that’s such a different environment than here. It’d take a hundred lifetimes to experience and taste all of what this country has to offer.
I would think anywhere else would look dull compared to the beauty of AZ! Yeah, we have trees, water, mountains, etc ... with mosquitos, black flies, deer flies, moose flies, minges etc most of the summer. And we have hot humid days in the summer.
We have 4 real seasons here, always something different to do about every 13 weeks. Many of these snowmobile trails double as ATV trails in the spring/summer/fall.
Lol, I guess the thing about AZ is that does have a variety of geographical features. The ones that could be reminders of other states are but in only small doses in comparison to it’s mostly desert features. Had I been smart I would’ve bought property up in the Rim Country when I was younger to escape this desert heat! It is brutal and even more so as I have aged. It limits your activities to a good degree for sure. For a decade or better it’s been just two seasons, absolutely perfect and absolute hell. As you can imagine, in winter the desert comes alive with thousands of boondockers and desert roving vehicles of all descriptions.
The wide open nakedness of the desert makes everything seem more dramatic compared to lush green forested areas that reveals itself a little bit at a time. Kind of like a grand old woman of the world, whereas the desert is more like a young woman, fresh to the ways of the world and wanting to be seen fully by all.
I’m envious of those before us that got to experience this country in its raw natural glory, truly a Land of Milk & Honey.
