I have a cheap single serve Mainstays coffee maker that works great for me. It accepts K-cups and has a brew basket if you want to use bulk coffee (I like Folgers). Perfect for my tall coffee cup.
I wake up, get up, set up the coffee maker with fresh grounds and water, hit the brew button, put my empty cup in position, run to the bathroom because my back teeth are usually floating by then. When I return, the first cup of the day is hot and ready for milk and sugar.
A few times I've screwed up over the years, I get distracted by the pets and forget to put my cup in place so the fresh coffee pisses down on the drip tray all over the counter top and on the floor - if I don't catch it in time. A couple of times the cup was full from the last coffee brewed the night before (that I forgot about and didn't drink), so it over fills and does the same thing. D'oh!
Sounds like a similar mess as you describe.
Indeed it do. I just buy the supermarket brand these days, save a couple bucks. And I prefer my coffee black. I was talked into going to a Starbucks once, that was awkward. “Black?! What blend do you want?” I dunno, the one that tastes like 8 hour old truck stop coffee.
I have something similar. I think its a Hamilton Beach product.. 'flexbrew'. Has a typical coffee maker on one side, the other side does single serve.. its got a small compartment for interchangeable parts to accept an ounce or two of ground coffee or a k-cup.
Mine was . I said it was cheap!
