I haven’t, but I feared I did this morning. Set it up and rushed into the bathroom on account of a rogue deuce. Then proceeded to worry about my coffee. Felt kinda stupid afterwards, like why would I have put the pot anywhere other than the burner. There has been a time or two where I didn’t seat it correctly in the burner, come to find most of the coffee has bypassed the containment unit and made a mess, but it was not this day.

I wouldn’t say nothing bypasses the spring loaded spillage protector, but imagine if you will, the volume of coffee being brewed is greater than the drip chamber’s capacity. I haven’t tested it, as I said, but seems to me it would be quite a mess.
