I don't exactly know what virtue it would be, but recently I was at a an amusement park. While walking out of a roller coaster something fell from above. Sure enough it was a money clip with an ID and several hundred bucks, obviously fallen from someone currently on the ride who hadn't secure it well.
I thought about keeping the cash. But then I thought what if it was someone who had brought their kids from several hours away and that was their entire budget for their family getaway? I thought about turning the whole thing in to a park worker and not my problem. That seemed like a bad idea as said worker may have the same idea I first did.
I knew the owner was on the ride so I opted to wait at the exit and call his name as riders were leaving the ride. The confused guy came up to me, I looked at the ID photo, back at him, it checked out, so I told him he dropped his stuff and handed it back to him and left before he even knew what was going on.
I know I wouldn't have done this before. The only other time something similar happened was years ago. I found a wallet a hotel lobby with some cash in it. Then I took the money and left the wallet where it was.
I don't know why I felt like finding the owner this time. But it seemed like the right thing to do.
Damned White of you bro. I'd bet that guy has told everyone under the sun about the awesome person that returned his money. He will never forget your honesty and kindness.
The reason why you acted differently is because as a man you are improving.
Good for you, brother.
Good bless you.
thats awesome of you! reminds me of the time I was quite little and at the store with my mom and this older man left an ATM machine. He failed to put the money in his back pocket properly and didnt notice when the billfold fell out. He was shocked when i ran up to him with his whole roll of cash. Good feeling :)
