I have. Last time I was getting insurance quotes, I called one that my employer happened to use for their business. I had been on their policy when travelling, so the insurer knew I worked there.

However, when I asked for the quote, I specifically said "Call my cell, here's the number." They ignored that instruction and called work instead and went through the BS of getting the call transferred to me.

I asked them why they didn't call my cell phone like I asked. No real answer, they just kind of ignored it and started in with asking about a quote. Stopped them and said that I couldn't count on them to follow the first instruction I gave them which was to call my cell only, not interested anymore.

They actually called again later in the week (work number) and started the spiel all over. Just hung up.

I know someone has said it already but this is why people put petty/stupid or strange things in contracts. If they do not do something so simple then they are not reading the contract at all.

Also, Most people do not read contracts. Even contracts for things like buying a car.

I have had a sales person scoff at me for actually reading the contract rather than just signing/initialing where they put little markers. The second they did that, while I was reading the contract.. I dropped it on the table and said no-sale and walked out.

If they don't want you reading it or are ticked off that you are "wasting their time" they are not worth your time.

Contracts matter and so does the language. If you cant understand the garbage they put in front of you they are either really, really fucking you.. Or maybe just kind of fucking you. It is worth paying the fee to have a lawyer in the field look over things sometimes.

My apartment complex was shocked when I read my lease and asked questions. They didn't know half the stuff was in there, but they are fucking morons.

If you have to sign it or agree to it, you should read it.
