I am a registered voter and received a letter in the mail to report for jury duty. However, it was mailed to a different address. It was actually sent to my father in laws house. I never lived there nor am I registered to vote with that address. Did I break the law by not reporting? Is this some sort of fraud? Shouldn't it have been mailed to the address where I am registered to vote at?

California uses drivers license database. I love jury duty invalidate the bad laws or throw the guilty in jail.

Interesting. I know in California an immigrant, not yet a valid US citizen, can easily get a drivers license. Yet they can be a member of our peers, judicially. Geeze. Thanks for sharing.

Correct, so we call or go to the county website the night before your date, and if you are not a citizen or have a hardship (sole proprietor, etc) and can be excused. The last time i was called i was on a road trip for work and missed the notice and call in date. I called the clerk and they defered the call two months. When I checked on the website that next time, unfortunately, I was not needed.
