Ross Perot is the only one I can think of. He wasn't just a billionaire from oil. He was 70% owner of Homedepot. The 3 guys who started it got the start up money from him, like a 2 million dollar check. Think of how rich those 3 guys are from just 10% each, and Perot had 70 freaking %. It takes that kind of money.

He was on the ticket. He was never going to win though.
