Guns do not kill; it is the individual that shoots the gun who kills. Cars do not kill; it is the individual driving the car who kills. Jobs are not evil; it is the individual doing the job who is evil.

If one considers their job to be evil, they are admitting that they are evil.

I used to make AI systems for murderbots, but they fired me because I made them only target blacks.

I dare say I have one of the few jobs that is actually good. I work in science investigating researchers that have falsified, fabricated or plagiarized their research results or records. Unfortunately... My hands are tied by the slow nature of the administration I work within, and I can know that someone is a lying sack of shit and wasted grant money, and deceived the public for months or years before anything significant comes out of it.

If I found a lawyer that was willing to help me FOIA grant application data from researchers outside the scope of my employment, I could probably do more to help fix corrupt science, but I'm not here yet.

I'm currently a bartender so am supplying the general public with alcohol and therefore contributing to degenerate behaviour so maybe? I'm having fun doing it though so not sure how to feel.

No. More boring and brutally easy. If my boss ever found out I'd be screwed.

I work with evil people and enable them. I try to keep them from being dishonest. It's hard.
