I’m looking for a mobile browser that does not make me tap to open the list of all tabs before being able to close a tab.

The amount of time this could save me would be incredible because the alternative is wasting time with unnecessary taps and swipe or having 200 tabs open when I have to work from my phone.

Sorry I'm a dumbass and didn't notice that you wanted a mobile browser.

Sadly, that’s desktop. I applied to be in beta for the iOS app.

I don't think the mobile has gestures.

All good. You were trying and I appreciate that.

I have not tried it myself, but yandex browser says it does:

https://browser.yandex.com/mobile/

https://yandex.com/support/browser-mobile-android-phone/navigation/tabs.html

Switch between tabs

  • With a touch gesture
    • To go to the previous tab, swipe the current tab to the right.
    • To go to the next tab, swipe the current tab to the left.

Note. The gesture is active if the option "Switch tabs with a swipe from the edge of the screen" is enabled in the settings in the Advanced section.

Closing tabs still has that you need to open the Tab list popup first before you can close it. After the popup is open, you can swipe to close the tab or hit the X to close it

Close tabs

  • One tab

    • 1) Tap the icon showing the number of tabs
    • 2) Swipe the page left or right, or tap X in the top-right corner of the tab
  • Multiple tabs

    • 1) Tap the icon showing the number of tabs
    • 2) Tap and hold the tab
    • 3) In the popup menu, select: Close tabs above, Close tabs below, Close other tabs, or Close all tabs

Yeah. Most browsers you can swipe to switch tabs but closing is the real issue. It would be a useful feature to be able to close the tab you’re on without having to open the list of open tabs first.

Ah. I use gestures on desktop in several browsers so that mouse gestures will perform a lot of actions, including closing tabs. Perhaps there is an extension for your preferred browser to add more gesture control, so you could slide up then down to close a tab or something.

I've not used this one specifically, but something like this could be useful but for your preferred browser? Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/mobile-gestures/ | Adds one-finger gestures for Firefox Android.

Yeah. On desktop and laptop I can just ctrl+w.

And I should have specified, I need the browser for iOS. I know ios is for commie faggots but it’s necessary for work.

Try Opera. I can't say for sure it still has all of the functionality you are describing, but it used to. It was also very configurable, so it should be able to meet your needs.

I have all of them downloaded. Lol. Been trying for a while now. I’ll go back to it and see.
