Cell phones are pretty amazing. Gps, satellite images of locations, some can even take vital signs I believe.
I grew up with rotary phones that weighed like 10lbs and looked like they could survive a direct nuclear strike.

Two years ago i could have rejected this conclusion. Now I agree. The pressure cooker/air fryer/slow cooker combos really are a nice kitchen enhancement.

We bought an air fryer a couple of years ago. Used it twice. It’s just a high energy convection oven. Doesn’t even seem that efficient. I don’t see it as a particularly awesome thing. Prove me wrong.

Yeah it's basically a smaller, faster heating convection oven. Cooks everything maybe 25% faster than a regular oven. I can reheat a whole meal in 3-5 minutes and have it taste just like I cooked it. Also can dehydrate, and my air fryer had a rotisserie in it.

It's housing prices relative to wages. Almost all the social ills are traceable back to that.

Off shoring & immigration (legal & illegal) drive down wages (and having women in the workforce, but we don't talk about that).

Immigration, NIMBYism, and fractional reserve banking (giving people huge loans creates an arms race, if everyone else got a huge loan you'll have to also just to compete) force housing prices up.

Non debt money, fuck immigrants, women back in the kitchen, tariffs out the ass, and tear up the zoning and building code crap.

Then you could work 4 days a week and afford a big house.

You are correct. Unfettered immigration drives down blue collar wages while increasing taxes and inflating the rental and housing markets, but you get a trendy new cell phone every year

Granted, to deal with any given problem, being poor as shit usually doesn't improve anything, it tends to render matter worse

Rich as fuck, it also has its downsides, you aren't free, you're attached to a mountain of obligations that you just can't afford to ignore, or else... It's far from being hassle free, even if you're a saudi prince, you always carry around a trainload of strings attached to you just because you are who you are, it's not neutral

I think people get so caught up with new toys that they forget about how to really live. The stuff can easily direct your life and make you loose focus of health and balance.

I work with a guy who actually talked smack about me because I use an ancient set of (perfectly functioning) earbuds. This man is so delusional that he actually thinks owning new and "improved" headphones makes him better than me.
