So I take the top off, clean up the head and internals, test it out. Picture is perfect now. Put the cover back on, and picture is back to messed up/streaky. What is my malfunction?

Edit: thanks guys. Seems I just had to beat the distortion out of it. Note I can enjoy some poky little puppy.

Well no, you could just kind of eyeball what’s making contact when you’re putting it on and see if something is out of place, loosen up screws when you reinstall the cover, etc. just an idea. Good luck.

I got it. Put the cover on and smack it around a bit till the picture clears up.
