I understand you want to weed out accounts, but this is BS and your hoops will reduce users and create even more of an echo chamber than has already happened.

I'm an old Voat refuge who hasn't been very active. I don't have alot to share, but chime in occasionally and I'm not the Reddit type of moron who wants to voice my opinion just to hear it. These new hoops to jump through are F'ing stupid.

I can't comment without making an introduction. I do so (https://poal.co/s/Introductions/662116) and label it nsfw because of language. Then I still can't comment to tell someone what to kill their sumac weeds with because I haven't actively participated in my introductory discussion that I can't even see becuse it's nsfw.

If the 30 top users want their personal site then just get rid of our logins.

Edit: The question. Why?

I guess it is kind of a bug that an intro post can be flared as NSFW and thus be invisible to the new user that just posted it. I think that is a legitimate complaint that should be fixed.

Unless I'm misinterpreting how the system works.

It probably should be grayed out, but that may not be possible due to how the site's code works. AOU would be the person to answer that.

That being said, I feel like you shouldn't be poking buttons you're not sure about, but doubly so when one is labeled with a tag that you know is problematic.

You are.

It’s done on purpose and spammers fall for it thinking a post tagged as NSFW will attract more audience.

That makes sense. I was just thinking about it from a general UX perspective. I don't deal with spammers in my line of work so I jumped right to bug.

Same thing happened to me. Picked NSFW for fun, couldn’t reply to my own post. Dysfunctional.

You’re a liar. You can reply in your PM (Comments and Posts replies).

You are wrong, AOU fixed it for me. Read the comments in my intro post
