I'm not an expert, but as I understand it... I wouldn't say strictly according to their interpretation of the word of god... Because, amish believe in god they believe in jesus christ BUT.... It's more of loose primitive faith/"heart oriented" general adhesion to the the word of god, than a rationally construed faith like catholics for instance... BUT, they have that strict hierarchy of things just like catholics; the wife is the second in command, the husband is the first. Hierarchy. Chain of command. I don't know about the rest but it seems to me, that they got that right and they stick to it. It doesn't mean the man has every right over his wife, and with rights come duty... Just like tradi cathos...

It's a deconstructionist, a subversive, knowing damn well what he's doing... And yes the aim is total chaos and destruction of the creation, of the glory of god...
