The big one is entirely subliminal, showing you "successful" people that are engaging in behavior they want you to accept.
Humans survive by mimicking others' behavior they perceive as successful. It's your survival instinct. You can't turn it off.
If you watch it, the behaviors they are programming into your brain will become "normal" to you, whether you suddenly want to buy a Colt Python revolver (that you saw on a zombie show), or miscegenation seems to not bother you so much, etc.
If somehow you notice every single time they do this, it will be a miserable experience watching TV, basically torture.

Text and audio doesn't have the same effect. It's video media that is dangerous. I try to be careful what videos I click on anywhere.
zoechip is pretty streamlined, works on older browsers, and doesn't complain about adblockers. 2now.tv also worked.
I've read that's how feminism (oh sorry, "women's empowerment") spread to eastern countries. It was the women seeing women on TV programs that broke their own culture's influence on them.
That's how they do it. It's the "strong woman" archetype, who is a single mom, has a nice house, went to college, and has beta male orbiters. Show women that story enough times through visual media and they will start to emulate the archetype as "successful".
