I was searching here to see what people think about the Oppenheimer movie and to learn more about who and what the movie is about. What I found were discussions about nuclear weapons like the atomic bomb being fake.

This is the first I’m hearing of this, and my interest is piqued. Can anyone recommend a good video/documentary discussing the topic? I’m ignorant about all of this, and I want to learn about it. Thanks!

>France grossly underestimated radioactive fallout from atom bomb tests, study finds Declassified documents suggest 90% of French Polynesians received significant exposure

And what is this? Charity?

Look no further than Chernobyl. "The science" said that it wouwould be uninhabitable for 100 years. And yet, after 40 it was visitable without an significant radiation presence.

Do you think giving me another "the science" study about a separate event is going to change my mind? I need Chernobyl explained before I'm going to buy their narrative

"The science" never said that it would be uninhabitable for 100 years. Some people threw that number based on little knowledge they had about the radioactive fallout of that nature, big difference... French authorities among others completely underplayed the nuclear fallout, actually... Because, they had vested interests, because it would have been a fucken bad press for the french nuclear program/the park of nuclear reactors they were building back then...

A nuclear power plant accident isn't the same as an atmospheric nuclear bomb test, or an underground test, in terms of fallout/pollution, and it can be worse...

And chernobyl could have turned much worse if not for russian intervention over it btw, which was in hindsight, fairly well dealt with

Now if you want to grow your veggies over there and eat them go for it, I'll pass

What’s Chernobyl have to do with nuclear bombs?
