I need a place that I can point a domain that I own to, and host a simple website. No databases or fancy stuff, just some html and css. Maybe $10 a year with limited bandwidth.

I can do a free service, but I'd like to have something where it's the actual domain name instead of a host/subdomain.com thing.

public repository...

your entire site will be available to everyone for free too, though.

but a static website is pretty easy to copy anyway.

Yes. There wouldn't be anything there other than some images and static code, so who cares if it gets copied. It's not like I didn't steal the template from someone else.

Well then your search is over. Github is the answer.

I just have to make another github account. Yuck.
