I'd like to call (and thank!) the mods of these subs and get their direct input, in addition to what the users of Poat think.

  • &

When I first started posting here, I posted everything in , because I thought, well, news yeah? But as I watched the new queue and learned about the feature, I began to try and spread out my submissions more evenly.

So, what's the etiquette? What advice is there regarding these subs?

I'm not suggesting restrictions like, ONLY US NEWS IN ! because in my opinion, that's a shitty reddit thing. For instance, they "disallow" US news in their world news, however, if one of their top mods submits it, they allow it. Their news subs is a heavily censored shithole.

What I'm asking is is there a general attitude on the best way to post so that ALL the subs can grow equally and not just rehash the same stuff? Kind of make each sub unique, but of course, still be flexible on crossover?

EDIT: Just to clarify, I do NOT mod in any of those subs, I'm asking so I can become a better USER.

I can't speak for the mods of the subs in question, but I generally post a US story in s/USNews, an international story in s/WorldNews ... but it depends on my mood. I post in s/news, too. In my mind, we have no consensus, most anything fits in s/news ... to me it's just a 'you pick 'em' thing.

This is pretty much what I've been doing too. US & world is easy enough, but News? Just a free for all?

Pretty much, I guess. As someone else said, the mod is gone. So you wont likely hear more from there.

That's why I thought posting this as opposed to a PM would be better.

for everything Texas

...and for everything Hawaii!

No problem, I just hope my question makes sense. Shit makes sense in my head, but I'm not too good at typing it out most times.

I figured that news subs would have a bit of rehashing just because lots of people might read about the same event from differing sources. I don't know if there is a way to make the subs grow equally without the a strict rule, but we could have a gentleman's agreement to switch up the news subs we post to once in a while.

This is a decent way of thinking and kind of what I mean. I'm against strict rules, but more looking for general posting guidelines that'll help the subs grow equally and balanced.

I guess you could do it based upon impressions of how many people are posting in a particular news sub. When my Posting Habits Listed and , I used to decide where to post based on the current. s/Politics is bigger so I usually posted in s/USPolitics. (I stopped because those subs being listed helped me remember them and because other subs have caught my attention). My advice would be to figure out which two of the three get less attention and alternate between those two. Most people are probably posting to s/News so s/USNews and s/WorldNews will probably need your attention more. That isn't quite a guidline, but among people interested in those subs it could be considered something like that.

Fuck you faggot

Wow, thought I accidentally went to voat where retarded preschoolers say faggot...just because they can.

stop trying to analyze shit.

Yeah, great idea trying to deter people from asking questions on . Are you trying to kill the sub?

Don't reply all faggily, faggot!

Or do... I'm not actually the boss of you. I fired all the faggots that worked for me.

Yeah, I know it's not rocket science, but just trying to help out subs grow equally. Still new around here and it's always good to ask around when you enter a new house. The old guard usually steps up and tries to set the course for newcomers to follow.
