I don't think it would work. First, those in control of the left want to destroy everything about western society. Mutually assured destruction is not a threat to them. I would help speed their destructive goals along. Second, letting a non-leftist state exist would show just how bad the leftist state is. Like east vs west Germany the leftist state will eventually have to build walls with armed guards just to keep their best people inside. In my area, which isn't very prosperous or right wing, there are more cars with CA, OR, and WA plates than I could ever believe possible. The uhaul near my house has a line of people waiting to return them every weekend, and I've never seen that before. Third, most of the world's top echelon is currently controlled by leftists. You would not only be fighting leftist factions in the US, you'd be fighting the UN, the EU, China, and most of the now corrupted US military leadership. While we might have moral dilemmas about killing kids and releasing chemical weapons, they do not. They would happily rape your kids and poison you to death just for saying affirmative action should be illegal.
