Did you never grow up?

Did you never grow up?

As an example... I grew up with Speed racer & Speed Buggy. As an adult I liked Initial D.

Its fun shit about a topic I am firmly interested in that i dont have to really think about too much... I dont want to think about it too much. I think maybe those cartoons had some portion of getting me interested in how cars work as a child...

Another Example... The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad. Those are just as funny as any damn sitcom on the market. Yet they all mirror the sitcom role. Just add a bit of cartoon to liven it up.

After cramming hours of tech manuals into my head a day, dealing with the family, the dogs and just life in general. Its a great time to take a few personal minutes and just enjoy something.

You dont have something that you can do to turn your brain off and just relax?

Well there ya go. At least in my case.

People who don't use their brain (many blue collar jobs) don't have to turn it off. Also, many people constantly self medicate with booze and or heavily invest in mindless activities like watching sports. OP doesn't like cartoons but watching others play sports and mentally investing is about as childlike as an adult can get without putting on diapers.

Cartoons are another form of entertainment. It's simply a medium. It's the contents which matter and not the method of presentation. As you point out there are cartoons targeting adults, such as Family Guy and Futurama.

The Flintstones and Simpsons were the first two prime time cartoons and are intended for adults even if some kids are watching.

Fuck you

Physical fatigue is not mental fatigue. I've done both. Digging a ditch or laying floor is not mentally taxing. It is, however, physically taxing.
