I've seen 2 interviews with Putt/Justin since the shutdown. In both, he blamed the shutdown of the site on the users, basically, being too unruly to control and he was tired of the headache. I have no idea how much truth there is to that. or Boobs would have been in a much better position to comment on how difficult it is to maintain a site of this nature. However, given his interactions with the community prior to the shutdown, and his personal views he'd leak during said conversations, I'm inclined to believe this was the truth, simply because Justin came off as a very weak and very timid man who lacked the convictions to stand behind the stuff he would claim he was a pillar for.

I seem to recall towards the end he mentioned issues with the EU laws. Could be wrong though
Towards the end all he complained about was the hosting costs and how he was keeping the site up out of his own pocket after PIA pulled their funding. I don't remember him complaining about EU laws, it was always the upkeep cost and he would do nothing to mitigate it even when offered help.
