Also, what do I start with? If I could have a hiking backpack with a tent and free access to water and allowed to forage I could do it anywhere. If I am supposed to live in a city, I would probably not be able to, unless there are no conditions on my condition at the end , just survival.

Questions we all ask. I think I'd rather go north than south. Too many poisonous things down south in Mexico/South America. I guess if I had some lifestraws and Berkey filtration I could manage the rest if I had my foraging books and my books on natural antibiotics. Also a firestarter that will last a long time. As a nurse I know I can go much longer w/out food than water and I know how to fish, make traps, use deadfalls, etc. Hygiene will be my hell. I hate being dirty/stinky/unwashed and if shtf lots of the niceties will be gone.

No, absolutely not. So long as the monetary system exists in any form we're well past the point where 50 a month could ever be done. Too many taxes and everything else for that now. You'd basically have to already have land and everything else you'd need plus the government would have to never touch you nor charge you for anything. Not gonna happen.

You can't even assume "in today's money" is a valid quantifier because incompetent evil like FJB is so rapidly destabilizing and inflating the costs of everything making your own industriousness and ingenuity just that much more critical. And if we collectively were smart enough to overcome that we wouldn't have allowed the fucker in the first place. Balkanized pockets of Rambo is where this is headed.
