Terriers are breeds brought forth by farmers to take care of mice. They have that instinct to bite a mouse behind its neck and shake it to break the spinal cord. Place a squeaky toy and throw it. If it gives you back, its a retriever. If it shakes it and runs from you when you try to take it, its a terrier. If it holds it and never lets it go, its a bulldog. If it looks at you dumbfounded, its a shepherd dog.
