Their clicky keyboard is great. They have models without stickers on the keys to keep dumbasses off your computer.
https://codekeyboards.com/ - Hands down the best I have ever owned, just upgraded my case to machined Aluminum.
I have one of those two.
The only complaint I have is that if you flip the switch to turn the “Fn” key back into a regular Menu key you can no longer adjust the back light brightness or turn them off at night. They stay on the last brightness you set them to. It helps keep the dust off, but I have to put a cloth over it at night to cover the lights. Other than occasionally typing in a password in the dark I don’t see much use for back lighting.
I also don’t need an Fn key. All it gives you are some shortcuts for media and volume control. I can set super key shortcuts for those in the Gnome desktop (Linux). You can probably do it in Windows and macOS too.
If I were buying another one I would get one of their customizable .
Model M from the 1990s
I spent $40 on a decent mechanical because it's nice to type on when I'm working, and it drives everyone else nuts.
I bet the sound of your beak hitting those keys is unbearable after 3 straight hours.
It usually takes about 3 minutes for people to go nuts.
You are fulfilling your programming beautifully. Your drone developers would be proud.
If you prefer slim keyboards:
Get a wireless gaming keyboard and mouse so you can play PC games on the big screen and a couch.
how prone are you to spilling drinks or other crap into the KB?
I love my mechanicals. Ive been using the Corsair K70 line for a while. But you know it if you spill a beer into one.
If afraid your going to spill into it, the tactile feel really doesnt matter, kids are around it... I'd get whatever the cheapest keyboard is and live for a bit.
Corsair mechanical will last for 10 years or more. Maybe the rest of your life. Good investment.
I'm looking for a replacement for my AEKII as well. I don't think I want a black-themed one, which limits options. What ADB-to-USB converter do you use?
I got one from eBay.
tinkerBOY ADB to USB Keyboard/Mouse Converter Adapter for Apple ADB. I jewed him down to $40 with free shipping.

Nice, that has the good ADB protocol driver code (TMK).
I like the dinky $10 "amazon basics" keyboards. I have like, 6-8 computers I interact with regularly, so it's nice to have unity/balance when hopping between them. I dislike backlit keyboards and think that they're not only stupid, but annoying to use because there is "more electricity" going through the board which tbh I think I can feel over prolonged periods. Lower EMF cheapo keyboards are my go-to's for that reason as well
