BTW, I took op's advice years ago. I cannot tell the difference between evaporation and absorbtion. Sweat or bathing will remove it as well. I am highly skeptical of this advice now.
Be advised, if you have Hashimotos disease, the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the western world, iodine will make it worse.
If you have actual thyroid dysfunction. Find a doctor to get you a complete thyroid panel.
Boron is good for you, can legit detoxify brain glands, and is a vital bone building block - bromine is what you were thinking of.
Good point on the faults of this skin test.
You're right about Boron/Bromine. I mixed that up. Bromine - something they put in enriched grain products?
idk, from what I've gathered here I'm taking a very high dosage of iodine, so I may just get some labs to confirm it's time to dial it back.
Yes. "bromination", I think they call it. They use iodine in Europe, fwiw.
If you take too much iodine, your body will begin dumping minerals. If there is such a thing as anecdotal measurement, like 5lb shits after iodine is it.
The key to thyroid health is in iodine, magnesium, copper, selenium, zinc and one more thing I can't think of right now. Each of those is important. Zinc usually makes you sick to your stomach is you're over doing it.
Apparently high copper is a common problem in the west, and many high coppers think they're high iron.
The thing is about being fat in the West is that you're almost certainly hyperinsulinemic. The thing to troubleshoot is insulin, and to troubleshoot your insulin effectively you should be looking at your general metabolism. Eliminate the sugar from your diet, either with keto or carnivore.
The thyroid supplements are solid, but a diet high in animal fat and meat and with zero carbs will sustain that without issue.
If you are a fat ass, you should be looking into potentially supplementing with msm, and NAC. If you've had a sustained period of the high sugar Western American diet, most of the time liposomal vitamin C will make you feel like money.
If you do the msm, buy the veterinary grade horse stuff (low cost), and mix 16 tablespoons into gallon of water. Let it sit until absorbed, and start drinking 4oz/day.
NAC directly affects insulin resistance, and about. 1,000 related to diseases caused by insulin.
Almost everyone I know who was worried about iodine was fat. So, if I am wrong, I apologize.
Thank you for this advice. I'm not terribly fat, actually. Maybe, based on what you're saying, I don't need this supplement at all.
